What this is

maydaystats is a public sports analytics project covering baseball, hockey, and volleyball. Most posts here start from a real data pipeline: pulling from public sources like MLB Statcast and the NHL API, loading into BigQuery, and analyzing from there. The code behind each piece is public along with the writing itself. The occasional exception, like academic coursework analysis on a static dataset, says so explicitly in the post rather than blending in with the pipeline-backed work.

Why it exists

I’m building this in the open as a working portfolio: real questions, real data, real pipelines, published on a regular cadence. If you want to see how a given number was produced, the pipeline and analysis code are both linked from each post.
